21 September 2023 Place : Laxminagr vasahat near Dahanukar colony Kothrud Organised in collaboration with: Palakniti parivar Rotarians present: Abhay Devare, Renuka and Ramchandra Ingale, Manisha Adhikari, Sanjeevani Joshi, Abhay Mayadeo Number of parents present 28 and 12 students. Beneficiaries : 500 Annually we arrange pustak handi and donate books to needy school by arranging a handi program. This year we decided to broaden the scope of books utilisation in the form of books Library. The Khelghar program is well received in Laxminagr vasahat Near Dahanukar colony Kothrud. Here school going children are assembled and a helping hand is provided for betterment of their school studies as well as Indian culture and be good humans. Small three rooms are arranged in vasahat and made available from 12 pm to 8 pm. Even parents also gather there and given education and made them literate. During covid times when vasahat was under strict lockdown books available with them were exchanged between themselves weekly twice. This made them aware of the values of books. So to extend this concept they decided to create 10 pustak exchange points in vasahat. 10 books boxes and lending of books and retrieval is done by 20 volunteers from vasahat. Proper Training is given to them. This evening when these books were handed over,we felt and agreed that we have donated a perfect gift at the right place. The smile on parents faces was most rewarding.
