This is the plight of Indian women . We know well that earlier the diagnosis, better the results. This golden rule is 100% applicable to breast cancer also. Rotary club of Pune Sinhgad road with technical assistance of Aastha breast cancer support group, Pune and LRCC is organising " Free breast cancer screening camp " on Sunday 20 November. Time - 9am to 3 pm Some facts *50 to 60 percent breast cancer cases are diagnosed in 3rd or 4th stage *Every 4 min one breast cancer case is diagnosed *Due to sheer lack of awareness, over wishful thinking and shyness ,women hesitate for check ups and ignore some early cancer symptoms leading to aggressive treatments in future. * 50 percent breast cancer cases are from 25- 50 age group. *Early start of menses, late menopause, late pregnancy, lack of lactation, obesity, genetic inheritance, pollution, stress etc causes are adding to urban breast cancer numbers. Common early signs and symptoms of breast cancer - Lump in breast ( can be painful or painless) , heaviness, redishness, warm touch, change in shape, retracted nipple, discharge other than milk, lymph gland growth in axilla or neck area. Very small lumps at early stage are detected by this screening So... don't miss this opportunity.
